This is to show Annotated sketches of selected artists
one of each Contemporary, Traditional and Aotearoa:
Contemporary: Barnbrook
- The focal point of this poster is the use of negative space with the use of bold black typography to attract attention. the circles are in bolder contrast to the typography.
-I think the leading lines are the circles. When I fist looked at it, the circles were what lead me.
- the use of colors are monochromatic. yet the use of black on white is a very bold effect with a sense of minimalism and abstract lines.
- The use of repetitive elements are the shapes amongst the typography and lines. it is a occurring theme in the poster as the circles and triangles are in bolded black.
Traditional: Josef Muller Brockman
- The focal point is the intricate-cut squares in an abstract manner. especially its use of white space it makes it eye-catching.
-Leading lines: I don't think there is any in my perspective.
-Use of colours is mostly monochromatic. Josef-Muller most of the time works with black and white.
-Repetitive Elements: The squared and Simple colours makes this poster very minimalistic yet strict and limited.
Aotearoa: Stuart Geddes
-Focal point is the use of black on pink. both bold colours make the poster look very attractive, especially with the use of parallel lines.
-Leading lines maybe are the parallel lines in the rectangle shape.
The use of colours is bold pink and black. a passionate combination alongside abstract squares and symmetry lines.
Repetitive elements are the blacks and rectangular/square shapes. this gives off professional vibes as there are no lines or shapes out of place.
